The mission of Holston Presbytery is:
- To proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord;
- To serve Christ by helping Presbyterian congregations within its boundaries to serve Him;
- To coordinate the mission to which the Presbytery itself is called; and
- To interpret the work and witness of the Presbyterian Church (USA) for its own members and for all others in this region.
Holston Presbytery Inc. includes the Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations in twelve counties in upper East Tennessee: Carter, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington; plus the Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church of Big Stone Gap, VA . Holston Presbytery is a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Synod of Living Waters.
